it's nice to meet you. we love pilates and we want you to love it too. so, if you've never taken a pilates class or you're just new to our studio we put together a list of tips to help you begin.
i've never done pilates. where do i start?
+ speak with one of our instructors about your goals and
any physical or medical conditions you may have. we
can then develop a fitness plan designed around you.
our instructors can modify pilates exercises to best fit
you and ensure that you don't get hurt.
+ start with a one-on-one private lesson or take one of
our beginner level classes.
what will pilates do for me?
joseph pilates said " in ten sessions you will feel the difference, in twenty you will see the difference, and in thirty you will have a brand new body." he definitely was not exaggerating.
+ improve your strength, stamina, flexibility, balance and
challenge deep abdominal muscles to support your core.
+ restore your postural alignment, improve spine flexibility,
and reduce back pain.
+ promote recovery from strain or injury.
+ engage your mind and enhance body awareness.
what should i wear?
comfortable workout gear that allows unrestricted movement is essential. please take your shoes off in the studio though. bare feet are best but socks are ok.
do i need a mat?
no, but you can bring your own if you like.
am i the right age?
pilates is beneficial for all ages however, engage your core
pilates does not offer classes for children under 16.
how often should i do pilates?
we recommend you take a pilates session at least twice per week. a consistent routine will keep you motivate and you will tend to have a more fit physique.
how do i sign up?
we have an online scheduling system where you can create an account, user log-in, and find class times. click here to go there.
what if i have to cancel?
life doesn't always run smoothly. we know. but please be mindful if you need to re-schedule or cancel an appointment. we do not give refunds for cancellations less than 24 hours prior to an appointment.

i'm pregnant, can i do pilates?
generally speaking gentle pilates exercises throughout a normal healthy pregnancy are safe. you should only practice pilates under the guidance of a pilates instructor who has been trained to teach women in this condition.
we require that you consult with your doctor before beginning a pilates workout routine while pregnant.
+ do not begin a new exercise regimen in the first
trimester.
+ the american council of obstetrics and gynecology
caution women in the second trimester against doing
any exercises that require you to lie on your back as it
can compromise the vascular system of both the mother
and fetus.
+ be aware that your center of gravity and sense of
balance change while pregnant.
